Tango is a unique dance with its origins from Buenos Aires in the late 1800’s. There are traditions that surround the dance and its music, however, like every art form, everyone adds something to this dance. Our observations are that individuals make tango what it is. Often we forget that the true origins of Argentine Tango were designed as social interaction, to meet new people and make new friends. As the interest grew, so did the variations of the dance. The one thing that remained constant is people sharing their love of Argentine Tango.

Tango St. Louis is proud to be a source for the continuation of this most important tradition. Please take your time wander around the web site. Find out who is teaching and where. Check out the different events around town. Most events offer a basic introduction to Argentine Tango lesson before dancing, so come see tango first hand.  Do yourself a favor, bookmark the site so you can be in the know about Argentine Tango and enjoy the world of Argentine Tango.

About This Site We are an independent group whose connection to tango is based on the pure enjoyment of the  experience of dancing and the social aspects of an open community.  The music, the friendships and the interconnection of everything that surrounds tango is what drives us. Our goal is to provide all things Tango with a splash of information on other dancing in the St. Louis area. We post Milongas, practicas and performances of anyone who wishes to list their event.  St. Louis is a strong community that supports a wide variety of tango. We want  our community to continue to grow while maintaining respect for the origins of Argentine Tango and the people who take the risk of exploring this wonderful dance.  We encourage posting of all tango events in and around the St. Louis area.
